What tools are available for navigation.
We can examine the Navigation Pane which provides either thumbnail views or the headings tree of your document both of which can help with navigation.
Additionally there is the Search bar which can be useful if you know what you are looking for.
Why
Lage documents for sighted users can be difficult to navigate. Using the index or thumbnails in the Navigation Pane allow another form of document navigation rather than scrolling.
Likewise for screen readers the headings tree in the Navigation Pane and the heading themselves offer up a navigation aid.
How
The most basic form of page navigation is to use scrolling either with your mouse scrolling wheel or by pulling the scroll bar up and down with your cursor.
You have two basic types of navigation available from the Navigation Pane. Thumbnail and Headings.
Here is how to setup your document for navigation. One other form of navigation is the search facility located in the top right corner of the document.
Using the navigation panel Select from the top menu > View
and then scroll down to the Sidebar option in the dropdown menu.
You then have two navigation options, headings,
and thumbnails. Clicking headings will take you to that heading.
Clicking on the thumbnail will take you to that page. Your cursor will be located top page left.
